Corporate Volunteer Day Feature

A big thank you to LVMH for volunteering with us on April 29th!

Here is a list of what LVMH volunteers accomplished in just a couple of hours:

  • Cleaned and mulched 15 tree beds along Broadway and 72nd Street, along with at Sherman Square. This supported our neighbors at the 72nd Block Association, residents surrounding Sherman Square, and benefited the broader community.
  • Painted 2 end caps at 74th Street, which are visible to pedestrians sitting along the benches of our malls.
  • Mulched 3 restored malls (malls in the blocks between 73rd Street to 76th Street)
  • Within the 3 restored malls, approximately 5,000 native plants were mulched (each mall is around 1,600 plants)
  • 210 bags of mulch were used, which will help retain water and add nutrients to benefit the plants and trees.

Their hard work and dedication directly supported The Great Green Way initiative, where BMA is restoring all 83 malls from 70th to 168th Street with native plants. These plants attract pollinators, support biodiversity, develop deep root systems that prevent erosion, improve water infiltration, store carbon, and add organic matter.

If your company is interested in volunteering with us, please do not hesitate to reach out (info@broadwaymall.org). Every volunteer makes a difference.
