Andrew Genn is a veteran urban planner who formerly worked at the NYC Economic Development Corporation where he focused on transportation projects. He has a degree in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University and a Masters in Public Policy from the City University Graduate Center. Andrew grew up in Queens and has lived on the Upper West Side with his wife and two children for 30 years.
Ian Olsen has worked in urban horticulture in NYC for over 15 years. Prior to his role, Ian worked at the Downtown Alliance and Central Park Conservancy. He is a graduate of Sterling College where he majored in Environmental Humanities. When not tending to the malls, Ian plays bass in a band that tours around the region.
Dana Ebralidze is a resident of the Upper West Side who frequently enjoys the benches and plantings on the Broadway malls. Dana joined the BMA team in 2024 – the same year she earned her BA in Urban Studies and English from Fordham College Lincoln Center. Dana is passionate about creating and supporting public green spaces in dense urban environments. Outside of her work, Dana enjoys crocheting, singing in a choir, and exploring the city.
Sebastian Gatton works as a horticulture associate with BMA, helping to design and maintain newly restored malls as part of The Great Green Way. He is currently pursuing a Master of Landscape Architecture degree at the City College of New York, and prior to joining BMA he worked for the New York City Parks Department and the New York Restoration Project as an ecological restoration and horticulture technician, which gave him a passion for promoting native plants in New York City.
Kierra Holowachuk is a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Sustainability Management program at Columbia University, with undergraduate degrees in Mechatronics Engineering and Honors Business Administration. In her final semester, she conducted an independent study for the Broadway Mall Association focused on soil and air quality, tree health and dendrochronology, pollution assessments, biodiversity, and community engagement. Living along the malls, she feels deeply connected to the community she now supports. Kierra loves biking around New York, spending time with her cat, and being a teaching assistant at Columbia for various courses.
