Why Clean-Ups?

As the pandemic continues, the City has seen a surge in park visitors including on the Broadway malls. Parks have been a respite during months of isolation. Combine heavy use of the Broadway malls with significant cuts in sanitation and Parks’ budgets, and we are seeing an increase in trash on the malls that needs to be addressed. 

BMA is mobilizing our neighbors by sponsoring seasonal, monthly community clean-ups. We’re reaching out to residents, local community groups, block associations, businesses and elected officials. The more who volunteer, the more we can accomplish together. We hope you can join us.
